The cost of animations vary widely. The main variables that determine costs are: detail required, visual look required, length of animation and urgency of production.
Typically when a client contacts us we hold an initial meeting to analyse the requirements together. Often clients have a specific budget in mind and we can usually suggest ways to limit the variables and thereby meet the budget limits.
The production time is largely dependent on the length, complexity and style of the animation. Animations which are only a few seconds can be completed in a week or two. Illustrations usually within a week depending on how busy our team are.

During production we continuously check in with the client with wireframes and samples to ensure quality and all stakeholders are informed.
Animation production is typically very collaborative with the client.
Usually the first step is to get a written brief from the client that states what they require. This would include how long the animation will be (or how many illustrations there will be), what it should look like (often we share samples of previous work for reference) and what other services they need (eg. scriptwriting). From this we can provide a rough quote.
Once a rough cost is approved and a client wishes to proceed the script is produced (either provide by the client or produced by us) which goes out for sign off to all stakeholders to ensure it meets the need.
The next step is the storyboard is translated into a visual storyboard – this document includes wireframes and all production instructions needed. Alongside this we may a series of iterative style frame(s) to show what the finished product may look like.
Once we have both the storyboard and style frames sign-off actual production begins.
During production the client receives draft animations known as animatics – these give the client the opportunity to comment and request changes.
Eventually the scenes of the animation are edited together and delivered to the client – even at this stage the client has the change to make some tweaks.
No problem. In such a case we can engage a subject matter expert on your behalf to act as the reviewer. This service does add on to the cost however and at the end of the day you will need to sign-off on the work produced at key stages.
